Notification of Approval of the Amendment to an Environmental Authorisation

On the 23 June 2023, a Part I Application for the amendment of an Environmental Authorisation (EA), to split the EA, DFFE reference: 14/12/16/3/3/1/2323, was submitted to the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE), in terms of Chapter 5, Regulation 27(2)(a) of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations, 2014 as amended.

In terms of Regulation 4(2) of the EIA Regulations, 2014 as amended, please be advised that the DFFE has decided to grant the amendment to the EA dated 30 June 2023 by issuing new EAs, Table 1 and Table 2 below provide reference.

Appeal Procedures: An appeal may be filed against this decision in terms of the National Appeals Regulations, 2014. Attention is drawn to Chapter 2 of the National Environmental Management Act, Act No. 107 of 1998 National Appeal Regulations published under Government Notice GN R 993 in Government Gazette No. 38303 dated 08 December 2014 (National Appeal Regulations, 2014), which prescribes the appeal procedure to be followed. An appellant must submit an appeal to the appeal administrator and a copy of the appeal to the Applicant, Mulilo Total Hydra Storage (Pty) Ltd and / or Du Plessis Dam Solar PV1 (Pty) Ltd, any registered Interested and Affected Party (I&AP), and any organ of state with interest in the matter, within 20 days from the date that the notification of the decision was sent.
