SustainAbility has worked with Nestlé on its stakeholder engagement since 2006 and have managed and facilitated its stakeholder convenings since 2012.
“At Nestlé, we unequivocally believe that access to water is a basic human right.” – Paul Bulcke, Chairman of Nestlé Board of Directors, Nestlé CSV Forum, Brasilia
Every two years Nestlé hosts its Creating Shared Value (CSV) Forum, bringing together global leaders to explore how the company and its stakeholders can together advance action for sustainability. In 2018, the company hosted its CSV Forum in Brasilia, ahead of the World Water Forum, to explore priorities and approaches to improving water sustainability.
We have supported the company with the development of its disclosure strategy and, in the following years, helped complete regular materiality assessments including: advising on sustainability disclosure priorities; developing metrics to respond to areas of stakeholder interest; and evaluating needs of the ESG community and supported stakeholder engagement. For its 2018 CSV Forum we worked with the global corporate affairs and country teams to design and run the event.
Event planning and facilitation
Designed the format and agenda to meet the company’s objectives. We prepared speakers, panelists and moderators; and prepared remarks for Nestlé executives. We also moderated one of the panels at the event.
We supported social media outreach and engagement leading up to and throughout the event. We gathered insights from participants at the event to help Nestlé share the knowledge gained within the business.
The Forum has helped advance thinking on the role of the private sector in supporting water sustainability. It has helped Nestlé to engage to support water sustainability outcomes and highlighted the commitment of the company to this agenda.
