For Twelve years, Rob worked for the Dutch Transmission System Operator TenneT in The Netherlands where he co-led the acquisition in Germany. Since 2013, Rob worked in the offshore wind industry, as Business Manager and Manager Offshore Grid Development in the management team of the offshore department in The Netherlands. In these roles, Rob witnessed the acceleration of this promising industry and the challenges of onshore integration. For many years, Rob worked in close cooperation with the authorities to shape the offshore wind programs. In reaching the targets of the climate agreement, Rob lived the commercial needs of companies and the challenges of expanding the offshore wind roadmaps. Rob led the origination of the consortium the “North Sea Wind Power Hub” to initiate with Energinet, TenneT Germany, Gasunie and Port of Rotterdam. The consortium, which now is a Project of Common Interest, develops long term visions and projects to facilitate large scale far offshore wind and its integration onshore to meet 2050 sustainability targets. As a consultant for ERM, Rob combines his experience in offshore wind with in-depth knowledge on ecological effects and system integration solutions, to assist companies in further expanding the business of offshore renewables and onshore integration.
About the Event:
The European Power Strategy and Systems Development Summit "Power Europe" welcomes European and global DSO and TSO operators, retail market enablers and experts to discuss the development and transition towards the next generation of smart distribution and retail systems to show-case key projects being planned and implemented. Taking a holistic view of how electricity distribution and delivery is evolving alongside developments regarding the prosumer market, AI integration, systems resilience, storage and e-mobility initiatives, the event focuses on optimising power systems to balance conventional supply with rising levels of renewable and residential generation to unlock increasing levels of efficiency in current and future power systems. Composed of co-located themed summits and common keynote sessions, the congress is divided between its EPD audience (European Power Distribution and Transmission Systems Development) and EPG (European Power Generation Strategy and Portfolio Asset Management). These are also complemented by a pre-summit Power Financing and new Power Technology Forums.

We are proud to be sponsoring, exhibiting and presenting at Power Europe.
Come and visit us in the “Power Networking Lounge”!
On Thursday 28th November at 12:30 pm CET, ERM will give a panel presentation on “Enhancing Grid Efficiency: Optimizing Offshore Wind Tender Criteria”.
Main key-discussion points:
- Overview of Grid Congestion and Offshore Wind Potential
- The Role of TSOs/DSOs in Shaping Optimal Criteria: TSOs/DSOs as Experts: Feeding Authorities to Develop the Right Criteria.
- Evaluation Committees: Recognizing Developers’ System Integration Plans.
- Wind Developers in R&D: Picking the Right System Integration Solutions.
- Competitive Tenders: Positioning for System Integration Success.
- Synergizing Stakeholders for Optimal Grid Integration: Bridging the Gap Between TSOs/DSOs and Wind Developers.
Renewable energy is transforming the power transmission landscape, driving the need for upgraded infrastructure and scaling developing projects efficiently. As grids are pushed to meet demand, network companies need to understand future capacity requirements and non-technical risks—like stakeholder engagement, biodiversity and sustainability are critical elements that power companies must factor into projects from start to finish. Here at ERM, we help you plan and navigate unprecedented investments, forecast rising demands, and manage diminishing resources by providing reliable, end-to-end solutions. Scale up confidently with comprehensive, sustainable strategies to ensure quality at every stage. Connect with one of our experts to discuss how we can partner with you throughout the transition journey.
